This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard your data when you use the SavvyDivvy mobile application on iOS and Android.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect information necessary to provide and improve the SavvyDivvy app experience:

Personal Information: Your name and email address provided during registration or social authentication (Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In).
Financial & Transaction Data: Expense amounts, category designations, transaction dates, split proportions among group members, and settlement records. Note: SavvyDivvy does not collect or store your debit/credit card numbers or bank account login credentials.
Photos & Camera Access: When you voluntarily take or select photos of paper receipts for OCR parsing, or choose a profile image / group icon. Receipt photos are processed solely to extract transaction amounts and details.
Device & App Security: Biometric authentication (Face ID / Fingerprint) is executed strictly on-device through Apple and Android secure hardware frameworks; your biometric data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used strictly for the following purposes:

To maintain and synchronize your personal budgets, group balances, and split records across your devices.
To authenticate your user identity and protect against unauthorized account access.
To deliver push notifications regarding friend requests, group invites, expense updates, and bill reminders (optional).
To provide customer support and respond to user inquiries.

3. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We DO NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial data to third-party data brokers or advertising networks.

Data is only shared with trusted technical infrastructure providers required to operate our service (such as encrypted cloud storage and push notification services like Firebase Cloud Messaging), under strict data protection agreements.

4. Data Encryption & Security Practices

All information transmitted between the SavvyDivvy app and our cloud infrastructure is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS). We implement robust server-side safeguards to protect against unauthorized data interception or access.

5. Data Retention & Your Right to Delete

You have full control over your data. You may request deletion of your account and all associated transaction records at any time:

From inside the App: Go to Account ➔ Delete Account.
Online Web Request: Visit our dedicated Account Deletion Request Page.

Upon receiving your deletion request, your personal information, expenses, receipts, and account history are permanently removed from our active database.
